Whether you're going over the next ridge to check for elk or to your treestand to scope out a deer, the QuietKat® FatKat gets you there faster. There's no gas or exhaust smell to aggravate your nose or the nose of the game you're tracking, thanks to the lithium-ion battery power pack. The electronic motor is also infinitely quieter than a combustible engine. Removing the smell and noise lets you forget you're receiving pedal assistance, while remaining stealthy. Plus, you'll cover a greater amount of ground than you could've by simply walking.Pedal or don't. It's all up to you.
The FatKat runs off both pedal assist and throttle modes. QuietKat wanted to maximize the utility and enjoyment of the FatKat, so they designed it to have a dual-mode electronic motor. As soon as you begin pedaling, the pedal assist begins to smoothly engage. When you cease pedaling, the motor gives you no further assistance. If you don't feel like pedaling, but still wish to get to your destination, simply use the throttle and it'll move by itself. For those times when you want to feel the full burn, set the pedal assist to 0 and you'll receive no pedal assistance.
Speed and Distance
All the quality names and features don't mean a thing if you can't get to the store on the corner. The FatKat is constructed to go 20 miles, without any pedal assistance, at the highest power setting. Obviously, if you use a lower setting and use the pedal assistance, the miles you'd travel would be higher. It has a maximum speed of 19 mph. This speed is also based on the highest power setting. But not to worry, if you run out of battery, simply pedal like a normal bicycle until you get to a place to recharge or change out the battery.Don't mind if we name drop.
With names like Bafang, Shimano and Panasonic, you'd think I was talking about a professional racing or stunt bike. QuietKat went to every length possible to make this Bike better than any pedal assist on the market. They wanted it to be able to stand up to whatever life could throw at it. The only way to accomplish this feat was to work with the most world-renowned bicycle part manufacturers to make the FatKat.
Time for a Power play
Without a battery, a motor is nothing more than a very expensive paperweight. QuietKat® decided to go with the ideal product, an 11.6 lithium ion battery by Panasonic Cell Chemistry. With high, consistent energy and a long life, it was a no brainer. But, it's also able to perform in a large range of temperatures. This is a huge bonus to the FatKat, because not everyone lives where it's 80° and sunny every day. They needed a battery capable of handling the heat and the cold, Panasonic Cell Chemistry fit the bill. Plus, an the empty battery can be completely recharged in under 6 hours with the included charger.
Bring in the Juggernaut
QuietKat turned to Kenda for the wheels. Known for BMX and racing tires, Kenda responded with the Juggernaut. This was their first experience with fat tires. They decided to look at their fattest off-road tires...motorcycles. Gathering inspiration from the championship winning Millville 2 tires, Juggernaut tires grip in any environment and have multiple sizes of tread height which optimizes its maximum performance. Talk about an unstoppable force.
Stop... braking time.
QuietKat® chose Zoom to make the disc brakes for their FatKat. Disc brakes were used for many reasons. The greatest reason is that disc brakes are unaffected by weather. It doesn't matter if it's raining, snowing, or hailing, they'll function exactly the same as if it's 95° and sunny. This is incredibly important if you're riding a bike through the puddle laden streets on the way to the store or crossing the stream on the way to your treestand. The safety of the bike would be destroyed if you couldn't stop. For this reason, and some others, QuietKat decided on disc brakes and Zoom to make them for this outstanding Power Bike.
Please, take a seat.
The seat of any bike has to be comfortable. For this necessary piece, QuietKat turned to the silent giant, Velo®. Although not known, by name, by a lot of cyclists, Velo makes nearly 100% of every enthusiast-level saddle sold. This is exactly what the FatKat needed, someone who knew how to make a seat and to make them for the bike enthusiast. Finally, they decided on the Velo. This saddle provides exceptional comfort with Velo's patented double density technology and Arctech base design. They also add a high-density foam to support the rider's weight. So no matter where you ride, you'll always have unsurpassed comfort.
Note: We do not accept returns on QuietKat vehicles. If your vehicle needs repair, take it to an authorized service center for repairs under manufacturer warranty guideline.
