Details & Specs

New Original Mountain Man Hooded Capote A WARM hooded garment. As seen in Canada, eh?

Go wild by wearing this legendary Hudson Bay-type Capote Coat. The Capote (French for "cape") was commonly crafted from naturally warm wool blankets. These garments were the epitome of simplicity... worn by 19th century woodsmen, hunters, trappers, explorers and the like in North America and Canada.

The Capote looks like a hooded robe, akin to the robes worn by some monks. But seriously, it's ideal cold-weather survival attire made from naturally warm wool.

Details:

  • Long sleeves
  • Rain cape across back and shoulders
  • Full hood protection with drawstring
  • Fully lined
  • Reinforced stitching and hemmed edges for long wear
  • Cinch belt for a custom fit. Weighs a whopping 5 lbs. Imported.

Capote was exactly what I was looking for. Great fit. Can't wait to wear it on one of those cold, blistery days.

Appears to be of good quality material, right sleeve is 1 inch longer then left, my wife will adjust it for me.

Love it. Was worried about the fit. I'm 6' 300lbs the 3X fit perfectly. I used the Capote camping to keep warm. I will say when laying down it could stand buttons of some type to keep it closed but overall very satisfied.

Well, it would've been nice. If it would've been correct. It was a defective product. The sleeve lining wasn't sewn to the cuff. I'll have to wait until I get the replacement to give you an accurate review.
