The verdict on this reel will take several years to determine. I recently purchased another Okuma reel and find it to be very smooth and functional. With this said, my main spinning reels are the original Cardinal 3's and 4's, several which are well over 30 years old. I have tried Shimanos, Daiwas, modern Ambassadeurs, etc. All are in my junk box to hopefully help someone find parts for theirs. Ask again in 5 or 10 years!
