New U.S. Military Surplus Crewman's Equipment Bag is rated 4.6667 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Specialty Item This bag has its' use, but not necessarily on your back. It is fairly well built and can hold a lot of gear. Unfortunately, it has no hip belt so carrying it around for very long is not workable. I got mine to function as a bug-out-bag. The bottom easily holds my sleeping bag and pad and some extras. The small accessory pockets are great for organizing first aid kit, optics, etc. You don't have to dig "forever" to find something in the middle part. It could really use some accessory straps so additional pockets/gear could be added on sides and bottom. The top flap does not cover the top-opening bag well enough to keep out rain. You will need a waterproof cover. For a grab, toss into the PU, and go it is good; for hiking through the woods - good luck.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great item! have not used it yet, but will be great to separate my gear into the individual pack sections. Only drawback is a lack of belt and chest strap.
