Rated 3 out of 5 by from Needs work Well, the price was right bu you get what you pay for. Better have a very small file and some spare time because these Thermold 30-rd. AR-15 mags need a little extra work. I bought ten of them and had to take them apart and do some filing on the feed lips of all of them to remove extra plastic from the molding process. Haven't tried using any of them yet, but they appear to be functional.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Plastic VS Steel Both have their place, steel has durability but plastic is smoother to load and grate for the range. For me Plastic is easier to load. But only time will tell how long they will last.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great price, poor quality. I've had some of these mags in the past, they worked very well for quite awhile (about 6-8 months) but eventually all of them cracked at the feed lips, had the same issue with the promag magazines as well, I've switched to aluminum and steel mags and haven't had any issues since. I would avoid these mags especially and go for Pmags or Tapco polymer mags which have work very well for me, but if on a very tight budget they should work just fine for a while...just be gentle :-)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great product at a great price I have used Thermold magazines for several years. If you load them and leave them for 24 hours, they work great. They are composite polymer, and require a break in period prior to using, like any good composite magazine..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great AR mags / great value I don’t know what happened to all the reviewers who have complained here about these Thermold mags not feeding, not fitting, bulging, etc.I agree with the reviewer who mentioned this batch of Thermolds is not the same as the “H22” version from years ago. There is also a difference from the original manufacturer, D&D Inc, Wilson, NC and the current versions which simply state “Thermold Magazines USA.” And years ago, Thermolds were originally Canadian-made). I don’t know how you’d get one of these mags to bulge. They’re pretty bomb-proof in my experience. I’ve dropped full mags on to rocks, hard ground, etc and haven’ thad one break on me.You can also tell the difference between older Thermolds (the H22 versions, for example) by looking at the top of the follower. The older (supposedly better versions) have a sort of cartridge-shaped indexer (I’m not sure of the correct term). The newer version have a straight shape (actually more similar to this found on Magpuls).I ordered 5 of these Thermolds and I got a couple different batches, apparently. They all had dated stamps on them ranging from 2003-2011. Three are marked H32 and a couple are marked H31. These all have the same follower as a batch I bought 7 or 8 years ago (don’t know where I got them). A couple are marked H21.The bottom line is I’ve had no problem with the American-made Thermold mags fitting, feeding or breaking. I always load 30 rounds in them and every round has chambered properly. I suppose there are some rifles with mag wells that might have tight tolerances or something that may prevent these mags from inserting tightly but that’s not been my experience with a Bushmaster, SIG P556 or LaRue PredatAR.All I’m saying is that for five bucks these mags are a great deal - even if you only use them for plinking or range work. I’m satisfied with them.I give ‘em 5 stars only because they’re a great value and I’ve had no failures with them compared to my Magpuls, aluminum GI mags or even old, steel ProMags.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from JUNK I am not sure how these things got such high ratings from others unless I received abnormally defective ones. The two I received are flimsy, have sharp edges/lips with obviously malformed pieces, and the internal parts are crooked and hard to move. Not surprisingly, I did not get even one proper feed from either magazine, no matter how many rounds I loaded. I have used three other brands of mags with my weapon, so I am sure that it is a magazine defect. I'm sending them back, if I can ever get the website return page to actually give me refund credit for two instead of one. Unfortunately, I will have to forfeit what I spent on one of these just to pay to ship them both back.
