HQ ISSUE Backpack Tent, Gray is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Design Flaws I was originally attracted to the design, look and weight. I practiced setting the tent up in advance (Eagle Scout and scoutmaster) and used it this weekend. This is a one person tent if you're an adult. Vestibule is nice feature as well as one pole set up. UNFORTUNATELY, the lines at the foot of the tent pull the floor pan and vent screen flat. I did not notice it, but this flaw is actually visible in the demo video. Tent will work fine in dry weather, however, will not protect you in rain, snow, or mud.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great if pitched correctly To start off, I did set this up for the first time when I needed it. I set it up in the dark on a night hike. It was late November and the temperature was down to 26 degrees Fahrenheit. I pulled the two foot box lines straight down instead of off the sides and created a gap where the mesh became the only thing between me and the cold. Wind blew in and froze my feet. I was also in a 40 degree summer bag. (Needless to say, I was not well prepared but the trip went well) The next two nights were fine when the temperatures never made it near freezing.I used it a second time this past weekend when temperatures got down to 25 degrees. This time i had a 20 degree bag. I am a "warm sleeper" but I was down to long underwear that night and I slept like a baby.I use my trekking pole in place of the tent pole and I have replaced the steel stakes with aluminum ultralight tent stakes. For the price and the weight, this tent has been great. I have not yet tested the tent under severe rain conditions but I like the single wall design. If you set this tent up properly (practice makes perfect) it will work well and not produce condensation due to lack of ventilation.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I purchased this tent for my backpack kit. It's light and compact. This is more for emergency use than heavy use. Great value but not heavy duty.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from The photograph of the tent is somewhat deceptive. There exists a perimeter screening around the lower 6 inches of the wall of the tent that extends around the tent. This doesn't show in the photograph. The tent is well made, but I'm afraid the screening will not protect against a cold wind, or precipitation. It would be good ventilation in warm weather, but this is not a cold weather tent.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Tent would only be good for 2 at most, not 2-3 as advertised. I have not tried it,but I think you would get wet in a good rain unless it was carefully pitched which Boy Scouts rarely do. Not a bad price for a beginner tent, but I would not want to take it on an extended outing.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Looks great, but no directions (other than some generic one" for setting up this tent with some different features. 2 seams in the floor of this 3'x 8' tent bottom is not good. Pretty cheap, but so it the tent.
