Guide Gear Minus 30 Degrees Canvas Hunter Rectangle Sleeping Bag, Duck Brown is rated 4.7981 out of 5 by 104.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from A paper clip is better than this zipper It pains me to rate this "poor" because I REALLY thought this was going to be just like my old bag , but the zipper is way too small to handle the thickness of the sleeping bag. This bag was bought as an exact replacement for my old -30 degree bag which was 9 years old. I used my bag on at least 50 boy scout trips. So I knew or thought I knew what to expect in my new bag. My temper hit the roof when I climbed into my bag for the FIRST time at camp and the zipper became "snagged" in the bag then snapped in my hand only half way up leaving the top half of the bag wide open to the COLD air. With my old bag I could sleep in a t-shirt and boxers and be PLENTY warm. Please I beg of you to redesign the zipper once and for all

Rated 2 out of 5 by from lousy zipper First night i used this bag, the zipper broke. My 10 dollar gym bag has a much better zipper than this 100 dollar sleeping bag. Having said that, even with the broken zipper, the bag kept me fairly warm when the temp fell to nearly zero. If this bag had a quality zipper, would have given it at least 4 stars, probably 5. It's a shame. Would have gladly paid an extra 10 or 20 cents to cover the cost of a good zipper.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from zipper great and warm, BUT the zipper is not big enough for the bag ! It catches on the flannel and broke the zipper

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great bag for the price this bag is for my son who borrowed mine a couple of times. I've had this bag for several years and love it. it's a truck camping bag in that it's too heavy for backpacking. it's very roomy - i turn a lot during the night and never get caught up in this bag - i'm 220 and 6ft. and i can scrunch way down in the bag and pull it over my head. I've never been cold in it. we use them every year elk hunting in the Colorado high country. one time we had our liter water bottles freeze solid in the tent during the night - i didn't feel any cold at all. if you can manage the weight of the bag, you will never get cold.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from worth the money The bag is big enough to fit someone over 6 ft. It has not been tried in the very cold yet, but it feels like it will do fine. Well made.

Date published: 2014-12-04
Rated 3 out of 5 by from zipper broke after ten minutes of use The first night I used the bag the zipper flew down to my feet, when I pulled the inside zipper handle it snapped off. The bag worked great in weather in the teens in Canada Thanksgiving night, very warm.

Guide Gear® -15° Fleece lined Sleeping Bag. Goosebump proof. WARM! SAVE BIG BUCKS!

"Not all who wander are lost." Tolkien's famous quote seems to ring true for my younger days when I would throw caution to the wind and stop the car at any nice looking pad of ground or mountain view and unroll the sleeping bag. I probably would have braved it all the way through the night if my bag was rated to -15°F like this baby. Because I deal directly with the maker, the middleman is out. This saves you cash.

Good stuff:

  • Oversized 39 x 90" for plenty of room
  • 7 lbs. fill weight of warm polyester fill insulation
  • Black cozy fleece lining
  • Olive green water-resistant rip-stop outer shell
  • Smooth operating zipper
  • Quilted stitching
  • Heavy-duty compression sack for compact storage. Imported.

Take advantage of all of this warmth and all these features!
