Genuine Silver 2-Reale Shipwreck Coin.

Treasure from the deep! In 1784, the El Cazador set sail from Mexico and headed for New Orleans, then a Spanish possession. On board was 450,000 pesos in silver Reales. This shipment was needed to stabilize the Spanish colonial monetary system in North America. But the ship landed on the ocean's bottom, where it's been for over 200 years.

In 1993, a fisherman netted the lost wreck and its coin cargo by accident! Now you can own an actual .875 Fine Silver 2-Reale or 2-bit Coin from long ago. Most are dated 1783. Each is the same size and weight of a U.S. quarter of the time.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Coins were Great. My son loves everything pirate related so to have a legit shipwreck coin was pretty exciting for him. Now for the kicker... $11 for shipping??? The coins were in small yellow envelope about 3x6 inches. However the box they were shipped in was about the size of a car battery? I ordered two coins and both envelopes would have fit in a standard size letter envelope... You could of save me $10 in shipping charges if you would have looked at what you were shipping... My overall rating would have been 5 stars had I not had to pay so much in shipping...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I hedged my bet and ordered 2 figuring that 1 would be worn beyond identification on BOTH sides. And I was right, but 1 of the pieces you can clearly make out the Coat of Arms and the words on the obverse another Coat of Arms and the year.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The coin was a little more worn than hoped to be. I guess that this item is best looked at in person. Even though the coin is still a good conversation piece.

Collecting a full set of Peace Dollars (1921-1935) is a serious challenge. The U.S. Treasury kept most in storage, and many were melted for their silver during WWII. Most Americans have never seen the .900 fine silver coins created to celebrate the end of WWI.

This prestigious collection contains one hand-selected Peace Dollar from each year of issue, including the very first (1921), the only year the famous design was struck in high relief. Displayed in a handsome leatherette case, the Collection comes with a printed history and certificate of authenticity.
