You need either lat/long or MGRS coordinates. You may want to use Google Earth or similar to figure out the GPS coordinates. Once you locate 1 pin/corner marker for your property, you may be able to calculate/project the next corner using the bearing and distance found on the plat. However, this can be difficult to translate from the plat.2) Surveyors use $10,000 - $20,000 differential GPS units which can pinpoint a location within an inch or so by referencing its calculations based on a known ground location to provide correction to the satellite position. This handheld GPS may have an error of around 10 to 50 feet. Depending on the size of your property, the terrain, and the type of marker you are looking for, 50 feet may be close enough for you to locate your pin. However, this isn&apos;t so useful for marking off a 1/3 acre plat in a neighborhood. I understand that the cell phone GPS found in iPhone is actually more accurate than this etrex IF you have cell service as it uses offset data from the cell towers to perform a crude low cost form of the differential GPS for increased accuracy and quicker sattelite sync. <div class="bvseo-author">Answered by: George</div> <div class="bvseo-pubdate">Date published: 2015-01-06</div> </div> </div> <div class="bvseo-question-answer" data-questionid="1351175"> <h2 class="bvseo-question"> Does this unit come with a carry case? </h2> <div class="bvseo-question-detail"> </div> <div class="bvseo-author">Asked by: John</div> <div class="bvseo-answer" data-answerid="1604316"> No. <div class="bvseo-author">Answered by: Customer Service</div> <div class="bvseo-pubdate">Date published: 2015-01-06</div> </div> </div> <div class="bvseo-question-answer" data-questionid="1333096"> <h2 class="bvseo-question"> Is there a 4 X 4 or UTV mount for this product. </h2> <div class="bvseo-question-detail"> </div> <div class="bvseo-author">Asked by: RErwin21Y</div> <div class="bvseo-answer" data-answerid="1583813"> Several types of mounts are made for this unit.
