awesome scope especially at this price point. optional soft case makes packing easy but hard case is great for packing to the range.

We have yet to use this "in the field", but on initial inspection we are impressed. Very powerful and clear... but takes a bit to adjust the focus, and it needs to be mounted. Very lightweight - we are only planning on using it for target shooting / plinking... I am not sure if it is heavy duty enough to take hiking/scouting/hunting. The tripod that comes with it is better than I expected. The hard case is not heavy duty, but looks like it will do the job. Also includes a soft case.

good deal for the price, nice case.

Laser several inches high and to the left of center with no adjustment possible. The dial that adjusts the crosshairs from 100 to500 meters is just there for looks, it does not change the impact point at all

All About Laser Rangefinders

Do laser rangefinders really work? Yup. Do you need one? Nope. Would you benefit from one? Probably. Better to not shoot than cripple. Better to sneak closer than to miss. Better to know the range than guess.

Binocular Buying Basics

The trouble with buying a binocular is knowing how to detect good, better and best. Most critical parts are hidden inside, and subtle performance differences are difficult to detect. How do you choose what's best at a good price?

All About Binoculars

Don't be fooled by binocular hype. Getting a good price on a good, bright, sharp, durable binocular isn't hard. You just have to resist the silly ads and know a few basics, which you can read right here.

Seeing Deer

I was pleased as punch to have been invited to hunt an exclusive archery hunting lease in Ohio. However, I battled frustration -- my binoculars were simply not good enough in low light! On a different hunt, the hunting lodge owner in Mississippi polled the hunters to see how many deer they had seen and what those deer had been doing. While others had seen nothing, because of my good binoculars I had seen 10!

Extreme Bow Practice

Western bowhunting can offer challenges like nowhere else. The steep and broken terrain that encompasses much of the Western countryside will place the hunter in tricky shot scenarios more often than not. Precise practice in unlevel terrain is a must for making confident shots, and confidence breeds success.
