Reviews
Ecofan Heat-powered Wood Stove Fan is rated 4.6757 out of 5 by 37.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Interesting device Purchased as a gift for a gadget freak, he does not have a wood stove but I figured it would work with a fireplace, and it does. I hung it on the screen that stands in front, so when removed to add wood it is also out of the way. It works well and the instructions say that the electric motor may need to be replaced after 2 seasons.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well made While it is well made, and I'm sure out last me, it will not move alot of air. It will however move it, and do it for free. I think this would be great for a remote cabin or hunting shack with no electricity, but it cannot compete with what a powered fan can do for moving air. A good addition but not a heating solution if you have trouble heating a space with your existing set up

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Invention I was so impressed I purchased two more. A second one for my wood stove and one for my daughter's.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Conversation Piece Everybody that see's this fan has to go over to my stove, pick it up by the safety ring, and ask how it works. My stove has a blower, but I use this fan to dissipate the heat from the top of the stove. It will definitely be appreciated if and when the power goes out and the blower can't be used.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quietly efficient Totally soundless heated air moving about the room for zero electric bill. What's not to like. I love it!

Just no external sources, its a special type of motor that produces electricity by the high heat given off. I just can't the name of the type of motor. Deep space satellites use them in place of large solar panel arrays. The voyager probes use them to this day, heated by uranium or plutonium alloy. If i read right, it has something to do with the fact that as the heat disperse's, it generates a small current in metal.
