Reviews
Ecofan Heat-powered Wood Stove Fan is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 30.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Conversation Piece Everybody that see's this fan has to go over to my stove, pick it up by the safety ring, and ask how it works. My stove has a blower, but I use this fan to dissipate the heat from the top of the stove. It will definitely be appreciated if and when the power goes out and the blower can't be used.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This fan runs on heat. I placed the fan on top my slow burn wood stove. It came on & has been running all the time since then. Very quiet & moves heat further out into the room. Speed varies with how hot the stovetop is. So far I am very pleased with this fan, it's made in Canada where they know about cold weather!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from worked as advertized, just not a big air mover. I think it does help spread the heat around in the room.thanks

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Friends astonished Bought for my father to use on his wood stove and he loves it. Turns faster the hotter it gets. Knows when to add wood when the blade slows down. His friends wonder how it works with just heat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I am very happy with the fan. It has been running since the day I received it. It really moves the heat around.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from excellent price, works as described, augments the blowers on my coal insert by redirecting the radiant heat.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It is great for stirring up the air. It will not be as powerful as my electric motor on my heater but it is perfect if you are sitting near the fireplace as it does not run me out of the room. It is quiet which is nice also.

Just no external sources, its a special type of motor that produces electricity by the high heat given off. I just can&apos;t the name of the type of motor.  Deep space satellites use them in place of large solar panel arrays. The voyager probes use them to this day, heated by uranium or plutonium alloy.  If i read right, it has something to do with the fact that as the heat disperse&apos;s, it generates a small current in metal. Or it has to do with the differential between hot and cold. Im not sure. But I&apos;ve been trying to find the name of this particular motar and how exactly it works.  <div class="bvseo-author">Answered by: shexdensmore</div> <div class="bvseo-pubdate">Date published: 2014-12-04</div> </div> </div> <div class="bvseo-question-answer" data-questionid="1348911"> <h2 class="bvseo-question"> How big is it  </h2> <div class="bvseo-question-detail"> </div> <div class="bvseo-author">Asked by: Chuck</div> <div class="bvseo-answer" data-answerid="1601051"> 6 x 4 x 9 3/4&quot;h., 1 lb., 8 ozs. <div class="bvseo-author">Answered by: Customer Service</div> <div class="bvseo-pubdate">Date published: 2014-11-19</div> </div> </div> <div class="bvseo-question-answer" data-questionid="1327633"> <h2 class="bvseo-question"> At what temp. does the fan blade start turning and does it improve heat circulation in the room? </h2> <div class="bvseo-question-detail"> </div> <div class="bvseo-author">Asked by: woodsman</div> <div class="bvseo-answer" data-answerid="1576554"> The fan will operate at surface temperatures from 150-650°F, and will help circulate the hot air around the room. <div class="bvseo-author">Answered by: Customer Service</div> <div class="bvseo-pubdate">Date published: 2014-11-19</div> </div> </div> <div class="bvseo-question-answer" data-questionid="1385776"> <h2 class="bvseo-question"> I have a wood stove fireplace insert.  Will this fan work if placed right in front of the stove? </h2> <div class="bvseo-question-detail"> </div> <div class="bvseo-author">Asked by: ndmtnman</div> </div> <div class="bvseo-question-answer" data-questionid="1385844"> <h2 class="bvseo-question"> how does it mount? </h2> <div class="bvseo-question-detail"> </div> <div class="bvseo-author">Asked by: LoriJ</div> </div> </div> <script type="text/javascript"> if (document.getElementById('bvseo-questionsSection')) { document.getElementById('bvseo-questionsSection').style.display = 'none'; } </script> <!--end-questions--><ul id="BVSEOCPS_GEN" style="display:none;"> <li id="bvDateModified">2014-12-17</li> <li id="pq">bvseo-cps-pq-8,30</li> <li id="tq">bvseo-cps-tq-5</li> <li id="sq">bvseo-cps-sq-recentAnswersFirst</li> <li id="pl">bvseo-cps-pl-CONV</li> <li id="cn">bvseo-cps-cn-sportmansguide</li> <li id="tl">bvseo-cps-tl-en_US</li> <li id="cp">bvseo-cps-cp-1</li> <li id="en">bvseo-cps-en-PRD</li> <li id="ex">bvseo-cps-ex-216268</li> <li id="bp">bvseo-cps-bp-question_prod</li></ul><!--end-bvseo-questions--><!--BVSEO|dz:Main_Site-en_US|sdk:v1.0.7.0-n|msg:timer 31ms -->
