  5. For an inexpensive rod, the Diawa Sweepfire is the way to go. It even has a handy hook keeper so you don't have to put your hook or lure on one of the rod guides as I have to do on the Shimano rods that I recently purchased. Although the tag on the Shimano rods say it has a hook keeper, I just can't seem to find it?

This rod is very flexible, sensitive and it seems very strong. I think that it will hold up well even if that larger than expected fish is hooked with it. The handle seems to have a little excessive flex to it. That should be no problem, especially when you consider the price of this rod. At this price two of them should be ordered in case something should go wrong with one of them.
