The dog bed is a little smaller than what we originally had thought. Also, the heating pad apparently is a smaller than the dog bed resulting in portions of the fog bed that do not heat. So, we were a little disappointed with the bed and the fit for our large Labrador retriever. However, small or not, our Retriever absolutely loves his new bed!

My dog loves the heated pad. She alternates between the heated bed and the old one when she gets too warm. Never seen her happier. By the way, she's a 15 year old border collie.

So far so good... the dog has readily accepted the foreign object in his kennel and it seems to be keeping him warmer, I have put my hand into the kennel as the dog left and can feel the warmth he seems to be enjoying. Always an outside dog, he is going on 9 years old and I felt deserved a little more comfort.

Works great, the dogs love it. Remember, it's on a pressure switch so it doesn't get warm unless someone is laying on it.

This is a great item for our pet. Keeps him warm on these cold nights in the dog house. Sometimes he don't want to come out to see whats going on.

The pad seems to be of high quality.

Dog Bedding: To Sleep, Perchance To Dream

It may pain tenderhearted dog owners to think that their Mr./Ms. Wonderful would just as soon sleep on a concrete slab as on a $150 dog bed, but it's often a fact. And that expensive bed, given my Brittanies' insatiable chew compulsion, would last about 30 seconds before it became confetti. Here are some tips on the pros and cons of dog bedding.

Travel Tips For Hunting Dogs

I'd left Pennsylvania bound for South Dakota at 10 p.m., planning to drive through the night. My German shorthaired pointer Lozen eyed the food-covered tables at the reststop. Too late, I saw her gulp down pickled eggs, hotdogs and macaroni salad. Soon I was back driving down the expressway with windows rolled down ... lesson learned. Here are some tips on how to better travel with your hunting dog.

Keep Your Gun Dog Healthy In The Field

As we all rejoice in the majesty of yet another hunting season, let me temper the mood for just a minute and talk about the importance of keeping your gun dog safe and sound in the field. Regardless of where you hunt -- in the cold of North Dakota, or the heat of Texas -- it's incumbent upon dog owners to make smart decisions in the field to ensure that man's best friend doesn't suddenly become man's lost friend.

Your Dog’s Crate

One element of a dog's life, whether it is a family dog or hunting dog, that is many times overlooked is the idea of having your pet crated. The idea of having your dog confined is often viewed as cruel or inhumane. I believe just the opposite. I highly recommend buying a crate before bringing a new puppy home, and here's why.
