Details & Specs

Clam® Cordless Drill 6" Ice Auger Conversion Kit turns your 18V cordless drill into an ice-boring machine!

Much faster than a hand auger, much more affordable than a power auger! It's the best of both worlds when it comes to getting you through the ice, and all you need is your own 18V cordless drill.

Everything you need is includes... drill plate, shaft, blades, and all the hardware you'll need to mount your drill... and it has been tested extensively on up to 24" of ice, and has been tested to drill through over 700" of ice on one 18 volt battery. So toss your old hand auger, and spare yourself the expense of a gas-hog - this innovative Kit is all you'll ever need!

  • Works with most 18-volt cordless drills
  • Anodized aluminum drill plate, handle and frame
  • Steel flighting with no-rust stainless steel blades
  • 6" auger bit with tempered steel blade
  • Industrial ball bearing absorbs the load from the auger, so your drill is used only to power the auger, not support it
  • Includes handle, so you can use it as a hand auger just-in-case
  • Includes all hardware to mount your drill. Cordless drill not included. Results may vary depending on drill used.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good set up but some things to beware of first. This auger setup is good. I was looking for a light weight, cheaper alternative to a power auger that was easier than a hand auger. This is a perferct solution!!. That said there are several things you need to know. This description does not say that you need to have a 1/2 INCH CHUCK drill. Most cordless drills are 3/8 inch...both of mine were. The other thing is that the chuck needs to be removed to attach to this plate. Most chucks are attached by a screw that is Loctyte'd in. That makes the very hard to come apart. I had to do it 3 times before I got it done. I first had a 3/8's inch drill, got that one apart and found out it wont work, then I bought a Hitachi 1/2" chuck drill, got it apart and found out it doesn't fit on the plate. I finally bough a Milwaukee 1/2" chuck drill and that one works. One other thing, get the 16" extension piece from Clam. It will save you having to bend over so much. The auger is very short without it. This one comes with the 6" Lazer auger and that is an excellent auger. The Lazer is very sharp and cuts through the ice like butter. Once you get this auger set up I hope you will love it as much as I do but I wanted people to know what to expect. If you prepare ahead you can get it done in one try. Good Luck and enjoy.
