Century Concepts President Lincoln Photo brings the history home to your walls... complete with Eagle button relic!

The war to preserve the Union comes alive once again! As the Union North reeled from Gen. Robert E. Lee's invasion of Maryland, Abraham Lincoln looked to Gen. John McClellan and the army of the Potomac to stop the Confederate advance that was now within striking distance of Washington. The battle of Antietam was bloody and savage - 23,000 soldiers killed, wounded or missing after twelve hours of combat on September 17, 1862.

But the Confederate Army of Northern Virginia's first invasion into the North had been halted and the victory enabled Lincoln to release his Emancipation Proclamation. It was just after this battle that famed Civil War photographer Matthew Brady captured Lincoln in this photo with old political rival Gen. John Alexander McClernand, commander of the "McClernand Brigade" of Illinois volunteers and Allan Pinkerton.

More:
  • Black-and-white photo is matted and framed in mahogany under glass
  • Included in the framing is an authentic Eagle button from a Union civil war uniform
  • Certificate of authenticity also included
  • Framed size: 13 x 16", photo size: 8 x 10".
