Rated 1 out of 5 by from To Light, This maybe cheap but can not keep the umbrella straight when you have a small breeze, keeps falling over.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Won't hold up in a strong wind I have found this base to be unable to hold the umbrella in a strong wind. When opened someone has to be alert to grab the umbrella during a gust of wind. We learned not to leave the umbrella opened up unattended. They have a weak point where the upright mounting tube connects to the base. The mounting tube breaks loose after 1-2 years and separates requiring a new base. This leaves us with a very heavy paper weight. I don't recommend you move the base by titling the umbrella and rolling it across the deck. Weakens the tube connection to the heavy base.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must Needed This base for a umbella is a must needed idem,I now have purchaced two from SG and think it workes just the way it was made for.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Okay, but you'd be better off getting a heavier one I bought this to use with a matching 9ft castle creek umbrella, relatively light winds blew the folded umbrella and base over bending the umbrella pole. If I had the ability to go back in time I would not have purchased this one and opted for a heavier 50 lb base. Aside from the weight issue the quality is not great.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from umbrella stands integrity Unfortunately this years stands are beneath the former standards. The spot welding just does not hold up. First one from a couple of years ago is still standing. The last two have broken the 'spot welds' within days (one withing hours). Tried every remedy possible, next to rewelding with I don't do, will simply either buy from CostCo or find a welder. To much hassle to return to SG. To bad, really appreciated their products.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible Product The welds on the cylinder that hold the umbrella broke within hours of installation. Don't waste your money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dont buy Bought two - both broke 20 minutes after assembly. Both to be sent back - waste of time and money

Rated 1 out of 5 by from It broke completely in two pieces We didnt even have the umbrella stand 2 weeks and it broke completely into. Not from dropping it or anything either...we never moved it from the deck once I took it out of the box. I am going to complete an exchange on the product and see if the other one is any more stable. I did notice the product had a sticker on it that read "made in china", so that's probably why it broke on me.
