The carrier works fine. I had to remove the rubber stock pad to slide the carrier on. Once I had it on I loaded it with about six 7mm Rem Mag cartridges and the stitching pulled out on one pleat. It definitely couldn't hold more cartridges but that is okay because I only need a few. The cloth will be slightly warmer than the bare stock on my cheek this fall.

  3. You scored a big 1 . Nylon on the shell holders was old and inelastic and hard. How long do you think that will last?

Triggers

This article could trigger some argument. Or better shooting. Triggers are often an overlooked part of shooting accuracy. We go bananas over calibers, barrel diameters, stock bedding, and scopes -- and ignore our triggers. Yet, a bad trigger can negate $2,000 worth of accuracy-enhancing custom accuracy work!

Gun Vises Are Handy

Get Accuracy By Using A Shooting-Sticks Bipod

Hunters go to ridiculous lengths to squeeze that last little bit of accuracy out of their rifles. They'll invest hundreds of dollars in guns and ammo and hundreds of hours of practice to get their groups one-half-inch tighter. But for less than $1 and one-half-hour at the workbench, you can increase your actual "hunting" accuracy 25 percent or more. All you have to do is make yourself a shooting-sticks bipod.
