AR-15 Lower Receiver by Stealth Arms, 80% Forged AR 15 Kit is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 26.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good Idea for Fixture I purchased this kit as I had a couple of 80% lowers to finish. first look indicated that I could not use on the two lowers that I had as to the hole that the kit indexes off. Had to locate those holes for starters. After adding the holes I noticed that it did not sert well in the mill vise , removed side plates and noticed that there is appros 10 mill errdor between tshe two plates. Will have tpo kiip this in mind when setting up a;lso there are no drill bushings in the plates, however that is a good after thought. i THINK THERE ARE BETTER FIXTURES OUT THERE BUT BELIEVE THIS ONE CAN BE TUNED UP.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not stellar, but OK. The jig has been designed to use only with the included lower, as it comprises a pin that "fits" into a hole not present on other 80% lowers. I say "fits" because the pin doesn't quite go in without sanding. You can, however use the jig with other 80% lowers by cutting off or tapping out the pin. The included instructions are not great. Check on YouTube for videos on finishing lowers to supplement the kit instructions.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Milling jig I purchased the jig and a second 80% receiver. I was able to complete the two receivers in a two week period working part time. I needed a long reach milling cutter and used a mini mill. On both receivers I cut into the safety detent hole. It did not affect function but the jig allowed me to get too close to the pre-drilled hole. The receivers function well and the critical trigger/hammer spacing is spot on. I did not attempt to use the jig with only the drill and file method.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from easy to use just go slow, it is just a simple jig. if you don't use a mill. too make lowers look good with a drill press you need a die grinder to level out the ridges. but you should go to the tool store and buy a couple 3/8 aluminum mill bits so you can smooth the sides out with less jumping.. the top mill plates are thin and cheap. they chew up easy if you don't grind the high spots down inside first.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Kit is lacking received the kit in good time, hoorah for Sportsmans Guide. I was very disappointed in the contents of the kit: 1) the instructions were missing critical information and gave incorrect dimensions, and 2) the drill bits provided were quite flexible, resulting in essentially a ruined effort. i.e., while drilling, even an eighth of on inch at a time, the drill bit would wander off track, so the slope of the cut is probably ~10 degrees off. There was no bottoming bit, so the bottom of the cut is pretty choppy. I replaced the 3/8" bit with one of my own, and there was a measurable difference in the stiffness, but unfortunately, the damage had been done. There are not good instructions on how to straighten the sides of the cutout, nor smooth the bottom of the cut to make the project usable. The cost was high enough to have paid for almost two serialized fully finished parts, so this is not a good investment from my point of view. BTW, although my drill press is not industrial strength, the arbor is true, and I invested in a precision vise to hold the work in place. --Did not help (in case anyone wants to venture I tried to finish the kit with a hand drill)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Lower and Simple but Functional Jig The lower included was excellent quality. This is the first 80% I did that was the "new" design with the buffer tube already threaded but the hammer and trigger area needing milled out. This type is simpler and requires less specialized tools, but more boring. I did the lower on a drill press. Lots of holes to drill, but if you take your time, it works. I finished up using an end-mill bit in the drill press and used the included milling plate to smooth out the sides. Came out spot on, holes all lined up great except for the hammer pin hole which is slightly canted but that was my fault, pushed the bit a little too fast I think. I had a Colt that was worse from the factory though. I've seen fancier jigs, but this one works. Instructions are sparse, but if you can read and follow directions, they are fine. Keep your speed down (I think I ran it at around 400 RPM) and use plenty of lube. If you can't get this jig to work, well--it's not the jig's fault. Lower came out great, now just need to anodize it to harden the surface.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well lots of work Correction* I was missing the screw that holds the jig together through "the rear takedown pin holes"

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well. lots of work I received the kit, missing the screw that bolts the jig together through the safety switch hole. I found one that worked. I did mine on a drill press. Lots of work. Gotta go slow slow slow. It worked though. I put 50 rounds through it so far. Not a single problem. All good. Shipped no problem
