Rated 2 out of 5 by from I was surprised how hard it was to hook to the tree .I thought the chain set up was like my other api stands , not even close . You need a third hand to be quite . A good stand to leave on tree easy to pack and very light to carry

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Solid Well Made Stand I was skeptical of this stand due to the low sale price of $134 but I am glad I bought it. Reviews here and elsewhere were good and have proven accurate. Build quality of this stand is top notch. I have climbed and sat in this stand one time and I am impressed. I have hunted out of Summit steel stands for years and currently use a Summit Goliath which I still prefer for long sits because of the padded seat with a padded back. The Summit weighs 27 lbs and is heavier than I want to carry for long distances over rough terrain which is why I bought the Marksman stand. The Marksman carries easily and climbs great being very solid in the tree. I am 6'2" and weight 225 lbs and have ample room when wearing insulated coveralls. The base is large enough to be able to stand and turn around in the stand without your feet feeling too cramped. The upright arms fold flat for carrying and did not squeak while moving around in the stand while in the tree. They did squeak a little when folding all the way flat so I will add a drop of unscented oil periodically just to be safe. Backpack straps are included and are useable but not easily adjustable while carrying the stand on your back. Will probably add a better set of straps with easy on and off adjustments like on a good backpack. Excellent safety straps for securing stand to tree once hunting height is reached. Overall I am very pleased with this stand and bought a second stand as soon as I tested the first one.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from decent stand for the price but has flaws I have used climbing stands extensively for about 40 years dating all the way back to the earliest Baker and Amacker climbers. I was attracted to this one for the low price and due to my previous satisfaction with API stands. I added it to my collection as a lower cost option (compared to my high end Summit and API climbers) to leave out in the woods for extended periods during the season, as I hunt multiple stands and areas and don't like to haul a climber in and out every trip. The quality is fine. I do have one major issue with the design though, and that is with the folding support arms. If you are only planning to hunt on trees with a diameter of about 12 inches or more this would probably not be a major issue, but if you need to hunt on smaller trees down to a diameter of about eight inches you better have the rear end width of a 12 year old kid, or else the arms are going to be pressing against your sides and you won't be able to lean back against the tree. I hunt smaller trees like that frequently so I plan to fabricate some support braces to permanently lock the support bars open at a wider width and eliminate the folding. I shouldn't have to do all that, but you get what you pay for I reckon. I also have minor complaints about the spring loaded pin, as it's harder to make adjustments than with the regular old style pins. One more minor complaint is that this stand (despite what the description says) DOES NOT have the motorcycle type chain as is used on the higher end API stands. Instead it uses a doubled galvanized cable with some type of insert. I'm sure its plenty strong, but its too flexible and hangs on the bark when climbing and doesn't work nearly as well as the chains. These flaws are why I can only give this stand three stars.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Climber This is my first climber I have ever owned. At first I was kind of worried about it since I thought the arms that hold up the chain locked into place. They move freely, but when you sit down in the stand on the tree they pull in to make it sturdy. There is almost no setup or installation at all when you receive it. You basically install the foot straps, then start climbing. It is easy to adjust to any tree because it has the spring loaded locks on just one side. Overall, really great climber. I look forward to many hunting seasons with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great climber for the price. I bought this for my son's first climber on recommendation from my brother who has used API brand for years. I was impressed with the construction and really like the easy of setup and use. The straps for the foot stirrups work great for my son and adjustable to suit his comfort and foot/boot size. The stand is light and with the web seat should be good for both gun and bow hunting when it needs to be moved out of the way. I have other climbers with foam pad seats and they are not as easy to bow hunt from as this one seems to be. Looking forward to many years of use. The chain attachment to the tree was easy to adjust and came with the cam buckles for the top and bottom which was a nice safety item to have included. I have paid close to $300 for other similar climbers and likely will buy another one of these for myself.
