Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Price, High Quality Handy little wipes to have around for those "still at the range" quick wipe-downs and other cleaning tasks. It's important to protect your firearms from the acids, oils and what-have-you from your hands and fingers that mark up the exterior of your beautiful firearms and metal magazines. This is essential, whether your firearms are stainless, blued, or other specialty coatings. Leather holsters use tannic acid to 'tan' the leather hides, whence came the term 'tanning' for tannic acid. Storing a firearm in a leather holster is generally a bad idea, as the tannic acid can attack the finish on your beloved firearm. Keeping your prized possessions clean and free of foreign materials and substances, caustic solutions or other environmental hazards is a must. And perhaps one of the most corrosive substances known to man...water, moisture, sweat, condensation...all can play a role in destroying your firearm. That's why it is essential to clean them thoroughly after each use, and before they go into long-term storage. After you fully clean them, you should wrap them is an appropriate soft cloth impregnated with a liquid protectant. This simple trick will keep your firearms clean and safe for months or even years. I have a Browning Hi-Power from 50 years ago, the one with the adjustable rear site, made and assembled in Belgium, not Portugal, that still looks brand new, like when I first fired it. The gun is blued, and the original finish looks just like it did when it was new. There are no light spots, scratches or blemishes anywhere on the firearm. That's because I ALWAYS clean it, wipe down the surface and keep it wrapped up in an appropriate impregnated cloth. That should be reason enough to purchase these wipes and use them frequently, and absolutely after every use or handling. Easy to use, safe to use, essential to use. Buy them and use them. I have one for each of my firearms.
