Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bought these for the kids when they hunt with me. After a little alteration they are perfect. Only issue was I placed my order on 2/9, and it wasn't shipped until 2/18 to be received on 2/21. I paid for 5 to 7 day shipping which did not happen. This is the first time I've had this problem with Sporstman's Guide. Hopefully it will be the last,

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Its hard to configure these but I think I may have found out what those metal tab and piece of flat string on the shoulder strap are for. You would insert the cloth strap into the slit on the metal strap and then form a loop inserting it back through. You would then use the little flat rope string and insert it under the loop to hold it in place. I believe it is used to adjust the straps. It does its job but the lower/upper pouches are held together with plastic toggles to form one backpack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Back packs are exactly what I expected. Chinese military surplus as said. They make things very basic no frills which is what I was looking for. They are versatile and seem to be sturdy. Will be using them shortly for one or two day hikes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very odd (to western idea and design trends)but very nicely made and strong. I separated the the 2 halves of ea pack to make 4 carry bags for misc. outdoor gear.
