Very poor condition when it arrived. Should have sent it back but it was a package deal.

Ammunition can was very rusty and dirty. Soaking it in a rust penetrator to try and clean it up and make it useable. Disappointed with its poor condition. Surprised Sportsmanguide.com would ship something in this condition.

Ballistics Charts

Going to the woods or the range with the right ammunition will increase your odds of success! And it will make your experience a safer one! Use our ballistics tables below to find the velocity, trajectory, bullet weight, and more for your caliber and gun style.

What Caliber Is Your Cartridge?

What caliber are you shooting? That's one of the first questions other shooters ask when they meet you at the range or in the hunting fields. But it's not what they mean. The "caliber" question is really a "cartridge" question. Caliber is the diameter of the rifle's bore. Answering it correctly does not describe the ammunition the rifle fires. For clarity, it's important to know the differences between bore caliber, bullet caliber and cartridge.

Sweet Seventeens

No matter your age, you can have a love affair with Sweet Seventeen -- if it's a seventeen caliber rifle cartridge! What are .17s good for? How about fun, targets, varmints, and small predators to the size of coyotes with minimum expense and virtually no recoil?

Do Blunt Bullets Hit Harder?

It's a myth that round or flat noses on bullets increase their wallop over the slap of sharp-nosed bullets. The truth is just the opposite. Heavy bullets hit harder, but not necessarily blunt ones. Here's why.

Shooting: Does Bullet Weight Matter?

As a new hunter it's a challenge deciding which of the many, confusing cartridges and calibers to buy. It's even more confusing when we're asked to choose ammunition. Does bullet weight really matter? Yes! And no. Well, maybe.
