First minted in 1979 and brought back into circulation for one last year in 1999, the Frank Gasparro-designed copper-nickel clad Susan B. Anthony Dollar is the first U.S. dollar to portray a non-fictitious woman on a circulated coin.
The coin depicts Susan B. Anthony on the obverse and an eagle flying above the moon on the reverse. In 2000, the Glenna Goodacre-designed Sacagawea golden dollar replaced it. The copper, zinc, manganese and nickel clad coin is a tribute to the Shoshone Indian guide to Lewis and Clark. Certificate of authenticity included. 5 1/2 x 3 1/2"
