They're perfectly safe... only a direct hit from a high-powered rifle will set them off, and nothing else (not even direct contact with flames). When struck, the Targets produce a loud explosion and a cloud of water vapor. Available in your choice of half-brick (each Target is a ¹/2-lb.) or full-brick (each is 1-lb.) sizes. Both include 4 Targets, 4 catalyst packs, a mixing container and ear plugs.
